Hello World! (again)

March 30, 2007 | In: Journaling | By Carlos Garcia

Our colleagues at Limelight Networks have fixed the issue. We were informed that some of their other clients were also affected by this outage. In any case, they have assured us that the problem has been fixed for good and that you will not experience downtime due to them.

We will be monitoring the content servers closely. Since Limelight serves content from 16 hubs around the world, we ask for your help monitoring this. If you encounter a situation where you cannot publish or view your scrapblogs, please email us to feedback[at]scrapblog[dot]com.

Back in a bit …

March 30, 2007 | In: Journaling | By Alex

You may be here right now because we redirected our traffic to our blog.

As we explained in our previous post, our content delivery partner, who streams all of our member’s beautiful scrapblogs all over the web, is experiencing some difficulties. They assure us they’ve got multiple engineers and that we’re top of their list, so we hope to be back live soon.

We haven’t officially launched, though, and are still in our test period: everything we’re experiencing now has a huge impact. We’re learning a lot from our early users, and we’re glad to be experiencing some of these issues now rather than months from now.

If you would like to dialogue with me or our team directly, please send us your thoughts to feedback[at]scrapblog[dot]com.

Trouble seeing content?

March 30, 2007 | In: Journaling | By Alex

We’re aware of some problems with publishing, previewing and viewing content. It seems that our delivery network, Limelight Network, is experiencing problems. This comes at an unfortunate time, just a day after major publicity on TechCrunch, TechMeme and across the blogosphere. Limelight is a professional organization and they provision for Myspace and YouTube (pre-Google) as well, so we’re confident that they will resolve this very soon.

In the meantime, we apologize for the inconvenience this is causing and hope you’ll bear with us as we resolve this.

If you got here through TechCrunch …

March 29, 2007 | In: Mentions | By Alex

Welcome, TechCrunchers, we’re glad you came to have a look and we hope you like what you see. Sit back, relax and get creative with our Scrapblog Builder or just explore some of our members’ creations with the Scrapblog Viewer.

As you visit us and create your scrapblogs, please bear in mind that we’re still tidying up and tying up some loose ends. We’re a small team that has worked incredibly hard to get to this point and are still in test mode with our friends; our “official” launch was due for early next week, but word got out a few days early.

Having said that, we will strive to make your experience more enjoyable and your feedback helps us serve you better. If you like what you see or have some suggestions for improvement, please leave us a comment or email us at feedback[at]scrapblog[dot]com.

I look forward to seeing your creations!

Sebastian’s 1st Scrapblog!

March 27, 2007 | In: Journaling | By Carlos Garcia

As promised, here is the first Scrapblog to be embedded in this blog. This one is even more important (to me) because it features much more than a great web service. This is a scrapblog that Margie and I created of our new baby Sebastian (1mo) and his big brother Lorenzo (3yo). Click “View Full Size” to check out the video of Lorenzo hunting for real bugs, not software ones.

You can also see that I posted the scrapblog to Flickr as a photo-set.
