Friday Five scrapblogs

April 27, 2007 | In: The Friday Five | By Alex

Last Sunday was Earth Day, so we thought we’d include some nature scrapblogs among our week’s picks:

Yellowstone Valley Brew created one of the largest scrapblogs we’ve seen with 53 pages! It’s all about celebrating Earth Day:

Gem0059 created a scrapblog on sustainable development in Costa Rica for a project for her Political Science class:

sluggo went hiking on a cold and rainy weekend and captured the memories on this scrapblog:

its-a-wonderful-life
recently moved from California to follow a dream “clear across the county to NYC. Hey they say if you can make it here you can make it anywhere. So far so good… I am still amazed out how time really does go by so fast. I am a fashion design student and I also work in the coorporate world (technically, but its really alot more fun and creative) as a Retail Coordinator for the NY area.” She made a scrapblog of her day at Central Park with friends:

Aisysmom says she’s “tried scrapbooking a few years back, and had people literally laugh out loud at the pages I made. I am the kind of person that does not wield a pair of scissors or a glue stick with much finesse. I’ve been forbidden to cut school pictures when I give them to my mom (Yes, I must bring her the sheet so that she can cut it nicely) and my handmade ornaments get stuck on the back of the tree, “broken” or “lost”.” Well, we think she’s very creative and made a great scrapblog! See for yourself:

Let us know which scrapblogs you liked! Have a great weekend.

Great RefreshMiami!

April 27, 2007 | In: Journaling | By Alex

Last night was RefreshMiami’s first year anniversary meetup. It was great seeing people who’d been there from the beginning as well as some new faces. There’s a lot to get excited about in the Miami web/tech/design scene, particularly now that so many are using Twitter!

Friday Five embedded scrapblogs

April 13, 2007 | In: The Friday Five | By Alex

We are aware that the Post-to-Blog features are not working correctly and we are improving our post-to-blog functions so it becomes a simple step with just a couple of clicks. For now, the best way to include a scrapblog in a blog is to “embed” it. For today’s scrapblog picks, we’d like to highlight some of the ones that have been embedded in blogs. If you’d like some tips on how to embed a scrapblog, please email us at feedback[at]scrapblog[dot]com

Erasmusa in Denmark scrapblogged her “gelato diary”, about “Seven consecutive days of ice cream. (It could have been eight if I bought some at the airport before we left, but I thought, nah, seven should’ be enough). Not all authentic gelato, but still a treat.” My favorite? What they ate on Monday: “cherry and nocciola (hazelnut)near Fontana di Trevi!”

Martin Taylor reports that he “created his first scrapblog today - 17 slides in about an hour and a quarter and it looks great - I even posted it to my more usual photoblog“. We also like it!

Richard Ryo König published a reptilian scraplog, in German:

Sophia Fei Ling says: “Bear with me, I’m trying something new … It’s free, and easy to use. It was fun! Some of these pictures I posted already, but wanted to see how easy or hard it was to upload it onto my blog. There are 2 pages in this scrapbook. Click on PLAY SLIDESHOW to see both pages. Click VIEW FULL SIZE, and it will open a new page, and you’ll see the whole thing much bigger. It was easy to do, and I think I like it! What do you think? Create your own when you get a minute, you just might get addicted to the fun!” Sophia, we think you did great!

And the Wilsons shared their scrapblog about Benjamin on their blog: “All About Benjamin … and the family that surrounds him!

Lovely. Happy Friday!

April 12, 2007 | In: Journaling | By Carlos Garcia

Lifehacker
Yesterday, we were honored that Adam Pash reviewed Scrapblog in the ultra-popular Lifehacker blog. Today, Adam went ahead and posted a very educative and passionate tutorial of his experience creating a Scrapblog. We were flattered that he commented “I’m really enamored by Scrapblog right now…”  You can check out the rest of the post here.
