We love Chicago and we enjoyed the BlogHer conference. But most of all, we enjoyed meeting you bloghers! It was a pleasure to meet you at the Grand Ballroom over lunch, at the speaker sessions, in the hallways or in our photobooth, where we had a blast! Here is the first scrapblog of the photobooth pictures and over the next couple of days we’ll be posting the others. We will also post the pictures to Flickr under the tag sbblogher07.
Best wishes to all from the Scrapblog Team at BlogHer ‘07: Carlos, Cindy, Jordan, Caleb and Alex.
While we roll out important new features to the Scrapblog website, we thought we’d introduce a fun one right now: “adding friends”! Now, when you visit the profile of a scrapblogger you like, you may add them as a friend by clicking on the green plus sign
next to their name. They will then show up below your bio in your own profile page, making it easy to find them the next time you log in!
If someone has added you as a friend, you will receive a notification email. This means that someone you know, such as a family member or friend, or someone that admires your scrapblogs, has “bookmarked” you for future reference. No action is required on your part, unless of course you would like to add them to your own friends list!
You may also remove friends at any time with a click of a button.
We released this new feature very quickly and will be improving it with time. Your comments and suggestions are welcome and you may reach us at feedback @scrapblog.com.
Be friendly and add someone!

A big part of the Scrapblog experience is using the many themes, stickers and backgrounds in the Builder. They look so easy to use, but a lot goes into making them. In fact, we commission these themes from top designers around the world. Today, one of our talented designers, Veerle Pieters from Belgium, shares her experience in making some themes for us. At the end of her blog post, she even gives a sneak preview of upcoming themes!
Here’s the link to her story.
We spent last week in San Francisco, a city we all love, attending a couple of great conferences. Last Friday and Saturday we were at the CommunityNext Viral conference in Sunnyvale organized by Noah and Adam. We then spent Monday and Tuesday in San Francisco at the Ypulse Mashup 2007 conference organized by Anastasia Goodstein. The weather was perfect throughout and we enjoyed a great day on Sunday sightseeing in the morning and barbecuing at Shel’s in the afternoon, where we were joined by Chris and Tara. We even got back just in time to miss this week’s minor jolt in San Francisco!
In the meantime, you’ve created some beautiful scrapblogs:

Cuba, by Lisi:

Lil Moments, by Berry_Berry, a first-time scrapbooker who’s getting the knack very quickly!

I foresee a weekend in front of the computer and will certainly take the opportunity to highlight a few more noteworthy scrapblogs!
The Scrapblog - BlogHer contest deadline was last night at midnight and it’s time to announce the winner!
Before announcing the winner, we would like to thank you for the fabulous scrapblogs you created. You told stories of your family and loved ones, vacations you’d taken, honeymoon memories, hobbies and passtimes, favorite places, weddings you’d attended and other good times. In turn, we moved by the stories you told, which many of you shared on your own blogs and websites. We are pleased to have met you here, on your blogs, on your photosharing sites and are truly proud to count you as scrapbloggers.
And now, without further ado, we are extremely pleased to congratulate Crystal for the winning entry! She garnered phenomenal support from her blog’s readers, who in a few short weeks brought her scrapblog over 40,000 views, each of which counted as an entry:
Many of you had plans to attend the BlogHer conference anyway and we hope to see you in Chicago. We’ll be at the conference as well, so please stop by and say hi!
