These Features Make Scrapblogging A Snap!

October 31, 2007 | In: New Features | By Alex

We’re very pleased to announce these features to increase your scrapblogging experience:

More Photo Formats

We’ve added support for new photo formats, so now in addition to JPG images, you may also upload GIF, BMP and TIF formats. What does this mean? Different cameras, scanners and software save your photos in their own formats. By adding these new file extensions, you may now use more image types in Scrapblog.

Better Sharing

We’ve improved sharing of scrapblogs. Now posting in your blog or in your social networks is just a couple of clicks away. Why keep
your scrapblogs to yourself? Share them with your friends, family or the world!

Got A Question? Check The New Forum!!!

Today we’re launching the Scrapblog Forum for you to post your questions, get help and discuss your scrapblogs. The more you use
the forum, the more helpful it will be for everybody. We’ll be there answering questions and we encourage you to help each other out with tips and tricks.

The new forum is here: http://forum.scrapblog.com/

More Options With Text

We’ve also improved text manipulation, so now you may have certain words or phrases in a different font size, color, or bold italic
underlined in the text boxes. Previously, you would have had to create a separate text box each time.

Publishing Your Scrapblogs

Is your scrapblog taking too long to publish? In general, it takes 1 to 2 minutes per page to publish a scrapblog. If it’s taking
longer, just hit cancel and close the Builder. Then reopen the Builder and try again with the same scrapblog, which has been automatically saved. This should fix it!

Scrapblog Profiles Rebecca Saylor

October 25, 2007 | In: Profiles | By Alex

We’re starting a new series on this blog. We’ve recently sent out a some surveys and questions to some scrapbloggers and are starting to get their replies back. As we receive them, we’ll be sharing their experiences and stories here.

We’d like to start off with Rebecca Saylor, who is our “Resident Scrapbooker”. We met Rebecca through a local internet networking group, RefreshMiami, where her husband Chris has been active. She is passionate about scrapbooking and has been practicing the craft for the last 9 or 10 years. Rebecca organizes regular South Florida scrap crops and attends local and national scrapbooking events and craft fairs. Please stop by her blog at Scrapbook Superstars and leave her a comment!

1. Give us a little bit more info about yourself (where are you from, work, school, family, hobbies etc…)

I grew up in a small town near Cincinnati, Ohio. I moved to Miami, Florida 4 years ago with my husband and my two cats (we were running from the snowy weather). I am currently the Resident Scrapbooker here at Scrapblog. My day job is working in human resources at a major cruiseline. I enjoy photography, creating scrapbooks, cards and just about anything else I can figure out.

2. How did you find out about Scrapblog?

I met Carlos and Alex at Refresh Miami, an event in Miami. I fell in love with the concept immediately.

3. Are you involved in any other creative activities (online & off)?

I am a big-time crafter. My mom’s favorite saying is “we can make that so easy!” so I grew up sewing, glueing and creating anything I wanted from scrapbooks to clothes.

Note: Rebecca has created a mini-photo studio to record her work and gives instructions on how to make one in this scrapblog:

4. Which one of your Scrapblogs describes you best?

I think my Scrapblogs collectively describe me. Each one is a slice of who I am. If I have to choose one, I think it would be the Coral Castle because it is creative and mysterious, like me : )

5. Who is your favorite Scrapblogger & why?

I am constantly inspired by all the Scrapbloggers on the site. Everytime I think I’ve come up with something creative, I see a Scrapblog that takes the idea to another level. I love, love, love BarbsScrapBook & everyone in my friends list, so please check them out!

6. What’s the one Scrapblog feature that makes you happy?

I love the color picker. I love to create my own custom color backgrounds.

7. What is the most creative technique you’ve used in Scrapblog?

Check out my scrapblog “Summertime”, I used photo layering technique to highlight my friend’s face. It took me a few attempts to figure it out and I think the end result is pretty cool.

8. What keeps you coming back to Scrapblog?

I love scrapbooking because I can create something special with my memories, Scrapblog let’s me share the things I’ve created with my friends and family.

9. What would you like to see next for Scrapblog?

I would love to have more photo editing tools, like a mini version of photoshop.

10. Can you share one tip for new Scrapbloggers?

Don’t forget to include journaling about your photos. Your memories include the words that tell the story of your photos.

Thank you, Rebecca!
