Hey everyone! I’m Rhonna Farrer. Thanks for joining us this week at Scrapblog for a fun challenge! Have you ever noticed that life gets so busy that it’s hard to enjoy what you are doing. It’s hard to enjoy the NOW?
I challenge you to: enjoy the pRocess! In your life NOW!
Scrap your life NOW! Stop & ’smell the roses’…focus on the things in your life right NOW that you enjoy!
With Scrapblog it’s so easy to crank out several beautiful pages.
So, how should you begin?
1. Get all your photos in order. Are you going to scrap your family? friends? roomates? significant other? pet? What is going on in your life NOW?
2. Pick a color scheme & visual theme. Something that will enhance your story. Something that will remind you of your life now..fave colors; fave designs, etc.
3. Create an entire album/book of your life NOW.
what are you doing now?
school?
age?
likes/dislikes?
family?
job?
pets?
With my new 3 themes, it’s going to be so fun to use the quick scrapping techniques scrapblog gives us to create a whole album of my life NOW (remember to tag your scrapblogs “NOW 2008″ so we can find them!)>>>
can’t wait to see what your albums turn out like! Remember….enjoy the pRocess!
Stop by my page here on Scrapblog and see what I’ve been creating!
Hi everybody! My name is Cristina – krikamertens on Scrapblog – and I am from Brazil.
You all may be wondering right now what I am doing here. Well, I´ve got to tell you that I was pretty surprised myself but oh, so honored to be invited to pick this week´s Friday Five!
I am very new to Scrapblog but from the numbers of Scrapblogs I have been posting you can guess I am a little addicted and I’ve never felt better about being an addict to an activity as I am feeling now. I think we all agree that Scrapblog is fantastic , isnt´t it?
I was welcomed like a family member and I say “family” because this is how I feel about the people here as I was received with so much warmth and affection that only a family can provide. So, thank you all, thank you Rebecca for your kindness and attention. Keep the excellent work!
Well now… What a hard task! So many tallented people and, countless wonderful works. The first question that came up was: What should my criteria be? As a true Virgo I had a hard time thinking and trying to narrow down the scrapblogs by subjects or themes but it didnt take me so long to realize that I should just let my heart speak. So, I am thrilled and honored to present to you my heart-felt selections for the Friday Five of this week:
The scrapblog “May” by Lien005 caught my eye as from the first page . The little girl is so cute! The incredible layouts and use of different stickers beautifully highlight the photographs, which by the way, are sometimes very funny with the couple making goofy faces.
The brown and light blue pages are really elegant . On page 24 the transparency gives you that magical dream-like look that makes you linger a little bit more for details. I just loved everything about this scrapblog.
Suziq60 presents us with a beautiful work of collage in “Angels” that I am particularly very fond of but had always thought it so difficult to do.
The choice of colors, matching all the pictures, images in a harmonic way was a feast to the eyes. Even though it´s only one page, it’s a puzzle-formed dream that I could look at forever.
Thanks Suziq for your romantic flare, you should check out all of her scrapblogs!
The first Page of “ Our garden in Spring” by Tuinkatjes looks like a water color painting and invites us to move further.
Beautiful layouts – simple and delicate, perfect to catch our eyes for the amazing flower, cat, nature pictures. On page 7 – the transparency of Gizmo was really a creative tool and gives that dream-like perspective I love so much. Extraordinary use of soft yet vivid colors. Just can´t wait to go back and browse more on your other pages. Congratrulations!
What a Lucky hair stylist little_m has. Her “Chasing Johnny” is not only a tribute to this spectacular actor but also a feast to our eyes.
As a big fan of Johnny Depp I could not leave this very creative scrapblog out. The use of the newest stickers Just matched the pages´energy along with the beautiful jazz song very well. What a great idea to finish it with that vídeo and the Johnny Depp´s song. Amazing!!! I also imagine the huge work it was to crop all those pictures but it was worthwhile.
As always, a great, great job.
At last, but not least, I fell completely in Love with girly mom´s - 2008 Spring Photo Shoot.
This scrapblog is Just wonderful. I Just loved the layouts and the pictures.
The use of touches of bright colors in the Black and White pictures highlights the girls´gorgeous faces as in pages 4 and 5 with the girls’ eye colors matching the dresses and the contrasting backgrounds. Fantastic work! And not to mention the precious last page where the caring and love for the baby sister is gently sealed with a kiss. I could really feel the protection and love passing through my computer screen.
Well, I hope you all enjoyed this journey through beauty, love, colors and creativeness. As for me I really had a great time checking out so many wonderful scrapblogs that I will for sure return very soon.
I want to apologize for any spelling or grammar mistakes but as you may have realized English is not my mother language. But, I am getting there….
Scrapbloggers, you rock!!! We put out the “Mom 2008″ challenge earlier this month and I have to tell you how impressed I am with your creations. Everyday I get inspired by the love you have being a mom or for your mom. Here are a few of my favorites this week. We are going to be announcing our winner very soon, but you still have time to take the Mother’s Day Scrapblog challenge. Just tag your scrapblog “Mom 2008″.
I’m known on Scrapblog as musicjan. I was asked to choose the Friday Five this week. What an honor, and what a challenge. I was tempted to ask Rebecca if we could make it the Friday Six, Friday Seven, or Friday Eight - just for this week! Even if that had been possible, I still would have had to rule out many wonderful scrapblogs. There are many wonderful scrapbloggers in our community. To choose only five was almost impossible! These are definitely not listed in order of preference - I loved them all equally.
The first scrapblog I’ve chosen is math made fun by Sarah H. Can math really be fun??? It’s always been distinctly my least favorite subject, but I have to admit this scrapblog makes it fun! Sarah has cleverly used the effect of stickers, included some of the new editing tools, and used several different fonts and lots of colors. Don’t miss the fun links to the internet that she’s included on pages 3 and 5. Her technique is very clever! I believe this is Sarah’s first scrapblog. Keep up the good work, and thanks for making math fun for me for the first time ever!
My second choice is a scrapblog about art. I admire and enjoy art, especially since it’s a talent I don’t have. cristawel from Oklahoma shares some of her art with us in my artwork.
Her drawings are so whimsical and the colors are beautiful. She has showcased her work nicely with Scrapblog stickers and backgrounds. Art is a hobby, not a profession for her, so I’m even more impressed!
The third choice for today showcases another love of mine - handmade pieces. I’ve always loved to purchase or receive as gifts anything that is handmade. Nospoj from Sydney, Australia, has shared her awesome hand beaded pieces with us in nospoj’s bjp 2007 . There is a beaded treasure for each month in 2007.
To make her scrapblog even more interesting , she has shared a bit of history about each piece. For example, page 1 includes educational information about the Australian Native Green Tree Frog. Page 10 includes captivating little dolls along with the beads. That page features each of the 4 girls in her family (in alphabetical order). Each page is a treasure. It would be difficult for me to choose a favorite beaded piece or a favorite page.
Happylicious is presented by PurePrincess.
It’s her first scrapblog, and what an awesome job she did. I’ve added her to my Friends, hoping to see some more work of this quality! Every time I viewed this scrapblog, I found myself smiling. She’s included videos, music, and fun (!!) pictures of herself and friends. Check it out!
My fifth choice is by EllieD. She has made a scrapblog titled to kill a mockingbird. EllieD has done an awesome, creative job of a book review in this scrapblog. She as used many scrapblog tools: stickers combined in interesting ways, lots of fonts, photo cropping, and opacity. I like the way she included a page that highlighted some of the characteristics of each character (pages 4, 7, and 9) in a creative way.
I looked at so many scrapblogs, and the choices were overwhelming. If yours isn’t here, it was probably on my list! Rebecca, are you sure I can’t have more than five choices???? Happy scrapping to all - keep up the good work!
Happy Friday everyone! My name is Stacy (aka stacy lou) and I have the great fortune to be working as a freelance theme designer here at Scrapblog. I relish the opportunity to continually design new content for such a talented and creative bunch of users! Your work is amazing and continues to inspire my designs on a daily basis.
This week I have been chosen to select the Friday Five - and what a tough job it has been! There are so many more than just these five which I’d like to highlight, but it wouldn’t be the Friday Five if there were more than that now would it?! In an effort to narrow down my selections I decided to make my picks in honor of the upcoming Mother’s Day holiday. Therefore all of my selections are either for moms, by moms, or otherwise related to moms. And on that note, I’d just like to say Happy Mother’s Day to my mom, whom I love and miss very much!
So the first on my list of Mother’s Day Scrapblogs is this gorgeous creation by hallie using the sepia tone filter available in the new photo editing tools. Hallie has done a superb job of marrying her theme to the antique-looking photos for a heartfelt and moving Scrapblog.
The second Scrapblog I have chosen is a baby book by member pfrigeri about her lovely son Logan. Excellent composition and creative use of a variety of stickers from the builder!
My next selection was created by alannarusnak about her adorable son Zander. Again, nice use of the subdued color scheme to tell this sweet story.
The next Scrapblog I have chosen is this unique creation, Mommy and Jackface, by thegalwaygirl. I love how your personality shines through on every page! (Page 2 is especially nice!)
And last, but certainly not least, I have chosen True Beauty by Emelia’s Mommy. It is a short but sweet Scrapblog that elegantly captures this mom’s adoration of her beautiful child.
I hope you have enjoyed this Friday’s Five, and remember there’s still time to put together a special Scrapblog dedicated to your mom before Mother’s Day!
