If you haven’t met the utterly charming Renee Pearson, you simply must! She is a fixture in the scrapbooking world and a pioneer of digital scrapbooking. She is an author, designer and overall hip chick! We had the pleasure of meeting Renee at CHA and she filmed a little video interview of Carlos. Check it out on Renee’s blog she also posts tips about the art of digital scrapbooking and I find myself heading over there whenever I need inspiration, tips on color combinations or help with editing photos. Renee is a wealth of knowledge.
We want everyone to participate in the CHA08 challenge! So, two fabulous things to help you get inspired.
* First of all, we are extending the deadline to midnight, Sunday August 10, 2008. So you have plenty of time to get your Scrapblogs together.
* Secondly, we are opening up the CHA Challenge for everyone to simply create your best Scrapblog with your summer photos.
Summer seems to be zooming by and I know I’ve taken a lot of fun summer photos that I haven’t scrapped yet. If you didn’t attend Summer CHA and you’re just not quite sure how to create an entry for this challenge, find your favorite summer photos and create a Scrapblog about some of your favorite summer memories.
Now that we have given you a little more time and an idea, I know you won’t want to miss the chance to win that Nikon D60! Please limit your entries to 3 for this challenge. Any that you have created so far will still count as an entry. Don’t forget to tag your Scrapblog “CHA08″ Judging will take place the week of August 11, 2008 and our scrapbooking superstars are waiting to see your creations!
Tim Holtz actually sent me this Scrapblog and I think it’s a great entry to the contest. Enjoy & Have fun!!
I’ve been so inspired by all the hard work that everyone is putting in for all of these challenges. Challenge02 - Scrap your favorite book challenge was so much fun. Sometimes it feels like reading is becoming a lost pastime. It’s always a pleasure to see summer reading lists posted at the local bookstore. Reading a book invites you to open up your imagination and travel to magical places created by you and the author. In a book, you are the illustrator and the director of the movie.
Those of you that are avid readers did a wonderful job creating scrapblogs for this challenge. Again, we were tasked with the difficult honor of choosing a winner. Before I tell you the winner, here are a couple of Scrapblogs that really stood out:
dr. suess by Raezee I love the detail and the interpretation of the story, the colors are wonderful.
Twilight by Daniel247 is beautiful and subtle and just overall very well done. One of the interesting things about this book is that it was chosen by 11 other Scrapbloggers as a book worth creating a Scrapblog about. Well, now I’m curious and I am going to head over to the bookstore and pick this up!
Little_M’s Scrapblog of Bridget Jones’s Diary of course blew me away. She has such an eye for detail, doesn’t she? Well, she won’t let me chose her as the winner, but I do think she deserves a “gold star” for her magnificent creation!
The Scrapblog that we found most creative is The Secret Life of Bees by Roban. I’ve actually had this book on my list for a few years and now I am compelled to pick it up off the shelf and read it. Boy, we have a lot of reading to do around here. Congratulations Roban, you deserve this honor. Great work!!!
Happy Friday! Have you noticed lately that we have quite a few young designers among us? How fun is it that some our most talented scrapbloggers were born in the 21st century? One of the cool kids on Scrapblog is the daughter of one of scrapblog’s most talented designers, Michelle Coleman. Michelle is a fabulous graphic designer and has brought us some of our most popular themes, like Pink Chocolate & Beautiful Journey. Her daughter, Brenna has been scrapblogging away and I thought it would be fun to have Brenna & Michelle choose the Friday Five this week. Take it away ladies!
We thought this Scrapblog from Serena82 was just too cool. Loved the photos, loved all the history about Pompei that she included, it was great to look at and very interesting to read!
Thank you Michelle & Brenna - keep up the good work!
