Challenge 12 Winner

January 9, 2009 | In: Scrapblog Challenge | By Rebecca

Hello Fellow Scrapbloggers!

I know that it’s just simply been way too long since we did a challenge winner announcement and I apologize for that! With the holidays and our new projects, we just got a bit neglectful of the blog. Rest assured, the scrapblogs I’m going to share with you today will be worth the wait.

Challenge 12 - Scrapblog your Favorite Color was especially inspirational to me because lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about my own person style and colors that inspire me. Colors represent our moods, our loves and the memories that we have.

I also love that certain colors remind me of people in my life. For example, one of our designers here at Scrapblog Jen Revoltar loves the above color combination. If I’m out shopping or looking at fabric and I see something blue and brown, I am reminded of Jen.

Onto the top entries for this challenge! The Colour of Love by Bubblee was voted 3rd most favorite for this challenge. Love is a fitting subject considering we will soon be celebrating Valentine’s Day.

Life isn’t just Black & White created by Naseem30 showcases how rich and beautiful the colors are in nature and around us.

And the winner of Challenge Number 12 is Purple Fantasy World by Scrapaholic Sherry. I was surprised at how many purple scrapblogs were created for this challenge! Purple is one of my favorites too! I hope this color palette inspires you! Congratulations Sherry, your passion for purple is a perfect match with your passion for Scrapblog!

Don’t forget to check out all the entries here and enter Challenge 13: Scrap your favorite retreat (favorite place to relax and get away from it all)…anything goes!

(Deadline is pending)

Be sure to add the tag: challenge13 (no spaces) to your scrapblog, so it can easily be located by all users and the Scrapblog team for judging purposes!

The Friday Five

January 2, 2009 | In: The Friday Five | By Meg

Happy Friday fellow scrappers in Blogland!

You were all so productive this week that it was very hard to choose just 5 Scrapbloggers to feature. Could all the holiday cheer have helped, perhaps?
After reviewing some of your orders these past weeks, I really need to take the time to acknowledge the amount of talented people we have using this site. I really wish you would publish your work, its such a shame not to share the good stuff with everyone! Then we can feature you in our Friday Five. And who knows…today, Scrapblog. Tomorrow, the world!
To start off the New Year right, here are 5 very talented users to give us all some inspiration:

Author: daisydara
Title: Fall Behind
In her scrapblog Fall Behind, Daisydara uses repeating stickers to create new and interesting backgrounds. I love the bright and funny pictures, too!

Author: gurdengirl
Title: Sabrina Rose
Ultra bright colors and creative page design really made this Scrapblog pop! Looking at these great photos of Sabrina Rose through time really invokes some of our best childhood memories.

Author: helpmerhonda61
Title: Long Lost Family
Gorgeous old photos and creative layouts make this scrapblog a sepia-toned delight. This really made me think of rummaging through Grandma’s old photos in the attic.

Author: RedDirtWoman
Title: Getting Personal
RedDirtWoman’s take on Challenge 19 is a bright journey of self-discovery into exactly what makes her her. I love the way she layered stickers and text to create her visually appealing layouts.

Author: WildlifeBio
Title: Lilly 2
WildlifeBio uses imported layouts from her private collection to create her striking designs. Creative use of stickers and layering really brings this scrapblog to life. It’s her granddaughter Lilly, however, who really steals the show!
