Happy Friday, Everyone!
As the twilight of summer approches, and the onset of fall is almost here, it can be hard to remember the hot months full of flowers and sunlight when viewed from the long path of mid-winter. Living in Florida as we do, one cannot imagine NOT having year-round heat, but I can recognize that we are in the minority and those long winter months can get dreary from time to time. Soon the cooler air will sweep in and picnics in the garden will seem like a distant memory. Here’s a healthy dose of those sunny days spent in the garden for your not-quite wistful perusal.
For all those who love to garden, or just appreciate them, this week’s Friday Five is for you:

Title: Walk in the Garden

Title: In the Garden
Author: trogfoot
Trogfoot shows us how she spends time with her family in the garden, and I have to say it sure looks like fun! There really is no greater joy than spending time in the garden sewn from your own hands and being able to share that time with the ones you love.
What kind of AWESOME gift can you get for $10? If you are thinking “nothing much” you would be wrong, my friend. Today I’m going to share with you another crafty little project that takes minimal effort, but will bring maximum praise and affection from your recipient. All this awesomeness can be yours for just under 10 bucks.
Here’s what you do:
1. Click Create A Scrapblog from the homepage.
2. Start with a blank page and get your photos, stickers and backgrounds. - You can get the free stickers, but for just $5, buy the small credit pack and buy some extra special stickers they deserve something special, right?
3. For my project I chose a background and stickers from super cute and whimsical Claudine Hellmuth.
4. Add your photos and a personal message.
5. Click Save & Publish
6. In the upper left hand corner of the builder, select File, here you can download a low res jpeg for free or download a high quality (super-duper nice) jpeg for just a few bucks.
7. Print your page as a 5×7 from your home printer.
Now that you have your Scrapblog page, you can add it to your frame. I chose this frame from Ikea. If you don’t have an Ikea near you (poor you!!), they offer online ordering.
I painted the mat so that it would coordinate with the colors in my Scrapblog page and I added a piece of Cosmo Cricket patterned paper as a backdrop. However, if you print your photo 5×7, you won’t need the backdrop.
Now, just pop your Scrapblog page into the frame and you’re finished. How easy was that? Try it and send us pictures, links, & happy thoughts.
Happy Monday! When is the last time you thought about what makes you, well, you? Scrapblogging can help you uncover that secret passion you have for interpreting people’s dreams or share your joy for snowboarding. This week’s challenge is all about documenting what makes you special.
If you didn’t get a chance to participate in the challenge, no worries. There is no deadline on creating! Feel free to get started on your creation and share it with us by posting a comment here with a link and tagging your scrapblog challenge19. Before we get to the winner, let’s take a moment and share some ideas about how to get started. Below are some ideas we’ve gathered to give you some creative spark:
1. Shift through all your photos and find the one, two or three that are your favorites and ask yourself these questions:
a. What do you love about this picture?
b. Describe what your photo reminds you about (a favorite place you visited, a friend, a happy time in your life)
c. How does this photo make you feel about yourself?
2. Make some notes about your photo(s) and keep them near your computer for when you begin to make your page(s)
3. Make a list of all the ways you are unique - do you scuba dive, are you a mom, did you coach your high school soccer team, do you play an instrument?
4. Pick a color palette - need help, you can head over to Colourlovers to find some inspiration
5. Just Do It! - Someday your friends, children, grandchildren and other family will want to remember the person you are today.
For those of you that took the challenge, it was really fun for us to learn more about you! Some of you are fashionistas, you hale from all corners of the globe, you are passionate about books and movies, clothes and friends, you are crafty, creative and fun! Thank you, thank you for participating in this challenge. It was a very enjoyable one.
We have to admit that deciding on a winner was the biggest challenge of all! There were so many fascinating entries that we had a very difficult time choosing. After much deliberation, we decided that the honor goes to aynzan for her unique and interesting scrapblog entitled A Peek Into My Diary. Aynzan truly shares a piece of her life with us and a link to her wonderful blog. Congratulations to our winner! Check out all the entries here. Don’t forget to head over to the forum to participate in the next challenge, Challenge 20 - Scrap Your Favorite Celebrity.
Howdy Scrapbloggers:
Another Friday passing and it seems as though time is flying faster than ever! It’s almost September, and I’ve got my Halloween decorations up already. It could have something to do with the fact that I love Halloween, however. I guess I like to enjoy the fall for as long as possible before giving way to the winter.
Kids start school next week as well, after a nice long summer vacation. Moms, hold on to your hats, fall is almost officially here! Enjoy the last days of summer while you still can…
Here’s the last crop of summer Friday Fives:

Hello Scrapbloggers, and Happy Friday!
A reflection on this past week’s Scrapblogs really revealed some SB gold! As I search every other week (Rebecca and I usually take turns) for my Friday Five, I can’t help but be astounded at all of the new and wonderful Scrapblogs that keep popping up. Summer’s almost over, and it’s back to falling leaves and pumpkins and trick-or-treating and giving thanks. Fall happens to be my favorite time of year, and I’m really looking forward to the fall holidays this year.
