Today I have another fab project to share with you. This one is great for anyone with an online presence. Here at Scrapblog we promise “endless possibilities” and to show you a little bit more about what we mean, today we are going to show you how to make a creative avatar.
What is an avatar? Here’s the definition found on dictionary.com: “-a graphical image that represents a person, as on the Internet.”
So, if you are online and want a creative way to show off your photo, Scrapblog can offer you “endless possiblities” to do so! This project is pretty simple all you need to get started is a photo of yourself and scrapblog.com.
Step One:
Click Start Creating from the Scrapblog.com homepage.
Step Two:
Once inside the builder, upload your photo
Step Three:
To make the canvas a square, select a shape and cover enough of the background to simulate a square shape.
Grab your backgrounds and stickers that match your personal style. Here are three examples:
Step Four:
Save and Publish your finished page
Step Five:
Export as a Jpeg
Step Six:
Crop the photo
Step Seven:
Upload as your avatar
Step Eight:
Make your friends jealous!
Have fun creating and show off those creative avatars!
It’s the day many of you have been waiting for, the announcement of our Disney D23 Challenge winner! Before we make the big announcement, I want to thank each of you that entered the challenge and helped us spread the word. We are honored and thrilled to offer exclusive Disney D23 stickers and backgrounds to the Scrapblog community. We look forward to reliving all of your Disney adventures and stories here on Scrapblog.
In the spirit of Disney, it was “magical” to see your adventures through your scrapblog pages. We saw stories of dreams coming true, vacation memories, extraordinary dining experiences and celebrity sightings. Although a tough decision, we truly enjoyed looking through all the entries of your Disney experiences and the special memories that Disney had brought to your life.
The winning scrapblog from this challenge is A Disney Mouse Tail Revisted by BeccaBear. Her beautiful Scrapblog is a true Princess adventure. Becca brings to life the story of her family Disneyland vacation through beautiful photos, wonderful journaling and captivating music. Congratulations Becca, you’ve won a 1-year D23 membership as well as a Scrapblog prize package!
In addition to our grandprize winner, we want to recognize two “honorable mentions” for this challenge: D23 Expo 2009 by wilson.racheld23
Hello out there, Scrapbloggers!
Has time flown this week or what? Sometimes if I’m not careful, whole weeks can pass me by and I make it to Saturday, turn around and think, “Where did my week go?”. I’m sure this phenomena happens to every one, even more when you’re distracted or ultra busy. It’s always nice when I get to sit down with a nice cup of tea and take some time out to review your Scrapblogs. This week was a real treat because I decided to mix the Friday Five up a bit. So take a few minutes out of your busy day and enjoy my five picks of the week. I had a great time looking at them and I know you will too!
Title: Micahs First Year
Author: hrichendrfer
An adorable baby and some really creative layouts make this Scrapblog a real joy to look at. I love the way she layered the stickers and backgrounds to create a rich, scrappy sort of style.
Title: A Doggie Howl_o_Ween
Author: Legally Blonde
I always get a kick out of the scenarios Gayle puts her doggies in, and this Scrapblog is no exception! I think my favorite is page 8 where one of her cuties does a great Ugly Betty impression.
Title: Fall 2008
Author: mjmj6
This Scrapblog does a great job at representing the warm colors and natural beauty of Fall. I love the layering of paper on the first page, and all of the stunning photos she chose for this one.
Title: girls & quads
Author: angiesgluegun
Even if you’re not adventurous, this Scrapblog really makes you want to get up and go! The girls look like they had so much fun on these dirt bikes, I might consider trying my hand at it…
Title: July fun
Author: Mama Licia
Mama Licia’s little girl Sophie is such a cutie! And so is this Scrapblog. I love the creative layouts she designed, she’s surely got a great eye for design.
The Community Challenge 20 was all about showing your love for your favorite celebrity. With over 90 entries for this challenge, it would be a crime to only choose one winner; so we chose four!
#1 Technique winner - Roseanne-x and her fan scrapblog for Lady Gaga. Check out page 2 (love the black and white photos with color borders) and page 4 (the typography is genius). The pages are inspiring and truly embody the Lady Gaga experience. Great job!
Most Votes from the community - J.Luck’s I Adore Meryl Streep is created in the traditional scrapbook style. We love the detail and the little bits of trivia found in the pages. Jessica deserves the highest accolades! Very good work!
Most Loved - A Tribute to Farrah by Scrapoholic Sherry. A fitting tribute to an onscreen “Angel.” The beautiful poetry is surrounded by lovely photos and angelic elements to create the warmest of fan pages. Great job Sherry “I love it!”
Most Views - Fantasia by Little_M. What a tribute! Little_M doesn’t disappoint with her beautiful and creative scrapblog featuring her favorite celebs. Can you make me a page using that color palette? We love the subtle photos among the bright elements and backgrounds. It just makes us feel happy!
Congratulations to all of our winners and don’t forget to Vote for Challenge21.
