Blogher07 Contest Winner!
The Scrapblog - BlogHer contest deadline was last night at midnight and it’s time to announce the winner!
Before announcing the winner, we would like to thank you for the fabulous scrapblogs you created. You told stories of your family and loved ones, vacations you’d taken, honeymoon memories, hobbies and passtimes, favorite places, weddings you’d attended and other good times. In turn, we moved by the stories you told, which many of you shared on your own blogs and websites. We are pleased to have met you here, on your blogs, on your photosharing sites and are truly proud to count you as scrapbloggers.
And now, without further ado, we are extremely pleased to congratulate Crystal for the winning entry! She garnered phenomenal support from her blog’s readers, who in a few short weeks brought her scrapblog over 40,000 views, each of which counted as an entry:
Many of you had plans to attend the BlogHer conference anyway and we hope to see you in Chicago. We’ll be at the conference as well, so please stop by and say hi!
What are people saying?
HOLY CRAPOLY! YAY! I cannot tell you how excited I am! I scared the doo doo out of my kids! The neighbors called the cops! I think I piddled in my pants!
Can’t wait to meet you and thank you so very much!
Congratulations! I’m soooo happy for you!!!
Awesome! Congratulations Crystal! Have fun at BlogHer and bring me back a tshirt.
Uhhh congrats to the best networker that uses scrapblog…it’s a good thing the contest had nothing to do with creativity and making appealing scrapblogs…Your kid and dog are cute but you could definatley improve on you scrapbloggin skills…better luck to those who don’t neccessarily have greatest networking skills next year…
@uhh-non-uhh-moose: as explained on the contest page at http://blogher.scrapblog.com this contest was not about creativity or any particular set of skills; rather, the winner was randomly drawn from the entries and each view on a scrapblog counted as a separate entry.
That being said, each scrapblog created reflects the time and effort of the creator and the winning scrapblog is no exception. Scrapblogs are not only about design: they are also about storytelling, humor and personal expression.

PS I’ll be moderating out anonymous comments from now on.
uhh-non-uhh-moose, you are a very sore loser. What happened to being happy for the winner and congratulating her? Maybe the reason that she got more views that others has nothing to do with how well she puts together a scrapblog…maybe it has to do with being an open, honest, soft, kindhearted, loving, funny, genuine person. She’s not the kind of person that would come here and bash the winner just to spite them because she didn’t win. You could take a few lessons from her. Oh, and the next time you decide that you need to insult someone, have the balls to do it without hiding behind and “anonymous” nickname.
Sorry Alex, I thought that this was a message board. I didn’t realize that there was someone moderating comments, otherwise I would have left uhh-non-uhh-moose alone for your discretion. I apologize.
@Angel: Thanks for your comments!
For clarification, everyone may post freely here and I do not moderate comments. However, I won’t accept anonymous comments.
I may be reached at feedback @scrapblog.com
Thanks again.
Congratulations Crystal!! You deserved to win this;).

Woo hoo! I love that you won this, Crystal. You make me laugh my butt off!!!
Congratulations Crystal!! So excited for you!
Congratulations Crystal! Love the pictures and stories that correspond on your blog.
That is so cool!
Go Crystal!!
Yeah! Great job!
Thanks, everyone. And thank you for your lovely defense in my stead, Angel
Anon-moose, whatever, found it pertinent to comment on my scrapblog, as well (albeit a little more vindictively) and I responded over there. (Alex, thanks for moderating and clarifying).
The comment on my scrapblog hurt my feelings, even though I shouldn’t take that stuff personally, and I didn’t feel it was necessary to be so ugly about it. No, I’m not a fantastic scrapblogger. I’m still learning. But I think the point was to make more people aware of scrapblog and I think I did that pretty well, so YAY ME AND YOU’RE A DOO DOO HEAD, MOOSE.
Ok. Back to adult life, now.
Wow, so many views! nice job! I’m sure you’ll have so much fun!
Yay for Crystal. This just shows how much of a fan favorite she is!
So glad you won! And I kept coming back to your scrapblog because you kept adding photos. I love how open you are and willing to share your life with the rest of us, for better and for worse. Thanks for sharing! You deserve a nice treat!
I have been reading crystal’s blog for some time and when she had it posted she was doing a scrapblog I of course clicked on the link… She did a fantastic job with it even if she was new to the whole thing… you gotta learn somehow!!!!
Congrats Crystal you deserve it!!!
I’m so glad you won Crystal!
I started reading Crystal’s blog a few months ago, and check almost everyday. To the brave anonymous person who tried to steal your thunder, I’ve linked something special in my name just for you.
Congrtulations Crystal, and thanks for finally letting us see what those darn dogs look like too! They’re adorable in all their slobbery goodness!
Crystal, I’ve been reading your blog for months and think you are hysterical. I have never seen another scrapblog, so I can’t comment on the quality. But I do know someone would have to be pretty darn jealous to try and take you down like that!! LOL
Your neighbor in Memphis,
Kim
Congrats! Have fun and make sure to scrapblog your BlogHer trip
Uh-ninny-moose, if you wanted technical excellence, go to the computer department at your community college. If you wanted quality work that people actually ENJOY, Crystal’s the one. Read her blog, too, to get an idea of how enjoyable her web persona really is… unlike that of others who are bitter and petty.
As if there weren’t enough reasons to desire you already, now you’re world famous. *sigh* Well done, chick!
