I love what we are doing. It was very rewarding to hear the “oohs” and “wows” as we presented at We Media. Apparently, rotating and resizing a YouTube video while it is playing always gets a big gasp from the audience. It was certainly fun to come out for air to show what we are working on, but I am back to reality now.

Reality for now has a lot to do with usability testing and making sure that our notions of what is EASY translate to a great user experience. In the era of HTML, good usability was very straightforward. RIAs (rich Internet applications) have disrupted this for the better. Since we do not have the limitations of HTML, we need to figure out conventions that are intuitive yet rich. That’s hard to do, but even harder to explain so here is a screenshot.
