You asked, we listened - New features that will ROCK your Scrapblogs!
This is our BIGGEST release since the launch of Scrapblog almost 1 year ago. These new features will make your scrapblogs come alive!
We are proud to unveil to you our most exciting and most requested features yet – the photo editing and photo cropping tools! In addition to these new tools, we have improved many other features inside the builder such as Get Stickers, Get Backgrounds, and Get Photos. Here are some examples of how to use the new cropping and editing tools:
Photo Cropping
The cropping tool has been completely redesigned and expanded to give you more creative freedom and flexibility. No longer are you limited to simple shapes, now you can crop your photos any way you want. All of the fun of photo cropping, without the anxiety of cutting your printed photos - it’s digital! The new cropping tool has three distinct ways to crop:
Shapes- Choose from customizable shapes like circles, rectangles, and stars to instantly crop your photo

Freehand- Designed to be used like a pair of scissors, you will be able to crop and transform photos into any shape or design

Eraser- Wipe out any part of the image or remove unnecessary portions of your photo.

For a video tutorial on using the new cropping tools, check out our new show Get Crafty!
Photo Editing
Ever wished your photo was black & white or wanted that “vintage” look? We now offer 1-click photo editing. With our new photo editing tool, you will not need to use desktop photo editing software to enhance your photos before bringing them into Scrapblog. We want to make it as easy as possible to make your photos look their best.
Some of the new effects include: black and white, sepia, antique, matte, vignette, a cool comic book effect, and even the ability to flip your photo to show off your good side.

Comic Book Effect

We have also redesigned Get Photos, Get Stickers, & Get Backgrounds in the builder. With one click of your mouse, your new photo, sticker or background flies into your tray! How fun is that?
Selecting elements inside your scrapblog has ever been easier. When you roll your mouse over an element, an orange glow tells you which elements of the theme you can move around and which are part of the background page. This new effect will be very helpful when you are working on a collage or intricate scrapblog layout.
So what are you waiting for??? Stop reading this blog and start making your beautiful and amazing scrapblog layouts! We want to see what you’ve been up to so when you use the cropping tool tag your scrapblog “cropped” and when you use the photo editing tag your scrapblog “edit”.
What are people saying?
The possibilities with these new tools and features will be endless and I’ll be spending even more time on ‘Scrapblog’ now!
I have just seen the ‘Get Crafty’ video and it is excellent-really clearly presented and full of ideas! Thanks!
I’m happy to see you are enjoying the new tools and the show - thanks for the comments! Don’t forget to tag your scrapblogs!

Hey Rebecca!
Scrapblog really does ROCK now, even more than before if that is possible! and your video ‘Get Crafty’ gives us such well defined instructions on the use of the new tools….thankyou, thankyou, thankyou!
One suggestion would be to put the Blog/Forum button next to the Explore button on the top right hand side and something similar for Video Instruction on using Scrapblog tools……I think alot of people miss out on reading the Blog and the Forum.
By the way it was great to see your face and hear your voice as well.
Regards from a very happy scrapblog user!
Peg
Wow, Rebecca! What a great video you’ve done for us. I think I understand completely, and the video has saved me lots and lots of time! I have to say that it’s pretty hard for me to watch you there in FL in short sleeves when I’m still slogging through snow here in OH!!!!
Thanks again!
I can’t tell you how thrilled I am that you all love the show, I humbly thank you for the kudos!
Jan - I understand, I spent many winters in Ohio waiting for the day I was able to move to Miami. I’m soaking it up now! Enjoy using the new tools, I know your scrapblogs are going to be AMAZING!!!! I can’t wait to see all of your creations.
Rebecca
I don’t seem to have these new features available to me.

Hi Jenny,
Make sure you clear your browser cache, so that it loads the new version of the builder! Hope this helps.

Rebecca
These tools are really good. But can i use transparency in my photos/images? Support for PNGs would be fantastic
Hello ya’ll here at Scrapblog….
I have to say, I feel you guys are my family.
Firstly : THank YOU!!!! a huge Thanks for these cropping tools, I absolutely love the free hand cropping, is something I have allways wanted to do in PS but couldnt find a nice way (the lazo tools drives me mad) and in here is fabulous!!!!
The new themes are amazing, I love the fact that we have so many new things, so many possibilities…..and now it comes a request:
Can we (Please, pretty Please??????) have a REPLY button?
My health isn’t in the best of shapes at the moment, and as much as I love the chat, the conversation that follows every one of my friends scraps….I m most of the time missing when is something that has been replied top me, as I cannot come to check every comment made in every scrap I left one….
If we had a reply button…..it would make it far easier….
I do understand, though, that you all work very hard for us, so can understand if it s not possible.
In the 11 years since I started using the net, Scrapblog is the most amazing page, programm, environment, people, vibe…..in one word: excellence!!!
Thank you for making us feel part of your family, for the incentive, for bringing into this world (which is sadly filled with violence and malice) something as nice, positive and encouraging as Scrapblog……
Hugggzzzz!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What do you have to say?
