Friday Five Picks for Peace
Today was the International Day of Peace, as established by a resolution of the United Nations General Assembly. In honor of Peace Day, we’re pleased to highlight some of our scrapbloggers from around the world:
Astrid Lanseth, who lives in Norway, has created a beautiful scrapblog called “Strawberries and Chocolate”, with pictures from travels and boat cruises in Scandinavia:

We liked this Canadian scrapblog dedicated to Kourt’s “Babies”: Missy, a boxer, and Sidney, a tabby cat:

It’s not so easy to take pictures of one’s pets and it takes time to gather a collection, like in “Portrait of a Cat”, by the wonderful “cazjane“, who lives in Britain:

PinstripeTuesday, from the University of Wollongong, Australia, created a scrapblog about a big fundraising march for breast cancer. Of course, the day was topped off by a rugby match:

Tutle, from São Paulo, Brazil, chose to create her own background from an image she uploaded to Scrapblog. First she laid out the other images like she wanted, towards the left of the scrapblog. She chose to layer them carefully by using the “send backwards” and “send forwards” controls. She also used a number of stickers. When everything was perfect, she added her background image, stretched it to fill the entire page, and then used the “send to back” button. We like the resulting “Paradise” postcard:

As a bonus, I’d like to highlight the “Crafty Gifts” scrapblog by our very own Rebecca Saylor, who’s an avid and creative scrapbooker. Please visit her blog at scrapbooksuperstars.com:

Happy International Day of Peace: wishing you peace in your corner of the world!
What are people saying?
I agree-’Scrapblog’ is a great way of sampling aspects of peoples’ lives from around the world. Even if the viewer can’t understand the ‘Scrapblogger’s’ language, much can be gained from the pictures.
What do you have to say?
