Scrapblog Tip: Change Eye Color

November 15, 2007 | In: Tips & Tricks | By Alex

The following tip comes from Karen, also known as little_m. Please see her profile here.

When making this fun Scrapblog using the Purikura! theme, Karen used a new technique on the eyes:

How to change the colors of eyes

In Karen’s words, “I added color contacts to most pictures in this scrapblog… to do this choose the ‘circle’ under the SHAPES option (lower left hand corner of the Scrapblog Builder screen). Resize the circle to fit over the iris of the eye… once you are happy with the size, make sure the circle is selected, then choose ‘fill color’ which is located at the top on the right hand side. Select a color you love, then make it a little transparent by using the ‘opacity’ option (I used approx. 50%). By using opacity the pupil of the eyes will show through a bit, giving the eyes a more natural look.”

Thanks, Karen!

Just to let you know… I played around with the eye color last night! On Kirsten’s picture (page 7) where she’s eating the candy, I put a green border around her blue “contact”… I think it makes an interesting effect!

Little Ava (on page 9) has beautiful brown eyes naturally, and I wasn’t sure how the color contacts would work on her darker eye color… but it works just as well on dark eye color, as it does on light eye color! Go to page 9 to see her transformation!

Also, I changed the background music to: Fill Me Up - Beight (click on ‘Play Slideshow’ to hear the music).

Hope you all enjoy my scrapblog!

It’s a great tip and sthilari says you can use the same technique on eyeglasses as well!
