You might like these
Have you noticed the “You might like these” area on the viewer page?
Last week we changed our website quite a bit and added a ton of new features, many of which we haven’t described since they work behind the scenes. With these changes, we are now discovering lots of great scrapblogs and users! We feel the site has become more dynamic … what do you think?
One of the changes has to do with “tagging”.
A “tag” is a word that describes your scrapblog. For example, a scrapblog about your pet dog may include the tags:
- pet
- dog
- terrier (or whichever breed)
- best friend
- play
In fact the more tags are used the better it works!
Wait! Why should I tag my scrapblog?
Well, tagging your scrapblog will make it easier to find by others:
- One way to find scrapblogs is to use the “search box” near the top of the “Explore” page. If you click on “tags only”, you will find scrapblogs that match the tags you’re searching for.
- The other way tags work is with the “You might like these” area. Did you notice the scrapblog above has no associated scrapblogs in the you might like these region? One of the reasons is because there are no tags (the other reason is because the scrapblog’s title was not recognized either).
After adding the “dog” and “pet” tags, you’ll notice scrapblogs appear under “You might like these”".
So if you’d like your scrapblog to be easily found, make sure to add some tags!
